George W. Bush and Non Interventionism

Just 8 shorts years ago, Bush 43 was running against Clinton's legacy by railing against Clintons "wars" in Iraq, Serbia, Yugoslavia, Somalia, etc. Today, saying these things makes you (depending on which pundit or politician you ask) naive, crazy, evil, uneducated, etc. I am sad to report that I took him at his word in this regard and long for a foreign policy of freedom. A nation that leads the world by example, and not force. Here is what our President ran on. Who running today is saying this? When did these ideas become crazy. Who historically said this?

If we don't stop extending our troops all around the world in nation-building missions, we're going to have a serious problem coming down the road.~George W. Bush

Free nations are peaceful nations. Free nations don't attack each other. Free nations don't develop weapons of mass destruction.~George W. Bush

Victory means exit strategy, and it's important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is.~George W. Bush

We know that dictators are quick to choose aggression, while free nations strive to resolve differences in peace.~George W. Bush
